Biosketch: Ms. Minott has a BA (Howard University) and MA (American University) in journalism. She is Public Affairs Director at WPFW and is probably best known as the producer and host of Community Watch & Comment which airs on WPFW each Monday morning from 11:00-12:00pm. She has been involved as a radio journalist covering national and local news and public affairs for over 25 years. Among those she has interviewed were Sir Patrick Stewart, Dr. Cornell West, Christopher Hitchens, Dr. Sharan S. Patil, (he and his team performed 19 hour surgery to remove a parasitic twin and extra limbs from Lakshmi Tatma; (people in her village in India considered her a deity) former Governor Bob Wise, Congressman Jim Moran, Congress member Eleanor Holmes-Norton, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Peter Max. Prior to WPFW she was international affairs correspondent for WHUR, covering Congress, Federal and International agencies in Washington and overseas. Ms. Minott has extensive consulting experience in research, public affairs, and media development. Among the organizations who have employed her services are The Smithsonian Institution, (Seeds of Change: 500 Years Since Columbus), The World Bank, (Development 360 Working Toward the Millennium Development Goals) National Public Radio, Soundprint, Aids Pandemic in Haiti), Conservation International (Yepi, Suriname Rainforests) and several corporations. She has served as moderator of distinguished panels including the 25th Anniversary of the Council of Court Excellence. Panelists were Donald Graham, Publisher Washington Post, syndicated columnist Robert Novak, U. S. District judge Emmet Sullivan and from the D. C. Superior Court, Chief Judge Rufus G. King III and juror officer, Suzanne Bailey-Jones. She is a member of the National Press Club. Her interests include classical music, jazz, the arts, theater, gardening, her son, and her dog and cat.
